Fabrication and assembly facilities enable McMillan Ltd to manufacture vessels up to 4.5m diameter and 35m in length,
with a maximum weight of 20 tonnes, and material thickness up to 100mm.

Workshops...

Our manufacturing department consists of two purpose built fabrication bays, 80m long, 18m wide,
with an under hook height of 8m.
Total floor area being 2880m².
Separate fabrication areas are provided for Carbon and Stainless Steels.

Lifting Capacity...

Each fabrication bay has the facility of two overhead travelling cranes giving maximum lift of 20 tonnes.

Machining Facilities...

In-house facilities include machining, drilling, plate rolling and press brake.

Welding Facilities...

Up-to-date facilities are used during fabrication these include, but are not limited to...
Submerged Arc, MMA, MIG, TIG and Pulse MIG.

Non-Destructive Testing Facilities...

We are able to provide most methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) to suit customer requirements.
These include Radiography, Ultrasonic, Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle.

Vessel Surface Coating...

If required, we can supply vessels polished or strip polished.
Preparation can also be carried out prior to application of all types of internal linings.
Externally, any manufacturers epoxy paint can be applied,
this being done either in-house, or by specialist contractors.
